Jordan's Portfolio

Artist Statement
Art is a visual representation of the inner artist. I love the idea of expressing myself through art, which is why I enjoy creating so much. My work conveys a sense of unity and organization. I continually find myself perfecting aspect os my work throughout the creative process. maintaing good craftsmanship, in my sculptures and ceramics is crucial. As I create each piece, I think about the elements and principles of art. While I use a variety of materials and processes, my methodology is consistent: to incorporate balance, harmony, proportion, and movement into each piece so the viewer's eye is focus on every detail. I take great joy in beginning new pieces, I find myself sketching out ideas to grasp a better understand of what will represent me as an artist.

 Star Concentration 2010- 2011

I have always been inspired by stars. From their luminosity, to their majestic mystery, stars are wondrous. While creating my 3-D portfolio, I focused on 5-point stars. Throughout my concentration, I captured the essence of different forms of stars such as starfish, traditional stars, as well as abstract 5-point stars.
